  • How to Clutter Cleanse your Photos

Article written by Blog Post Contributor Karen Fabiola Photography Photos are memories on an image, we treasure them, we smile at them, but sometimes we get too many of them. The best way to stop shuffling through prints and digital files on multiple devices is to organized them. What do you need? *Pens with archival ink *Trays or boxes with lids for sorting *Index cards or sticky notes *Software (Cloud or external memory/hard drive) Prepare to make Simple Decisions: _Everything that is important the photo is clear and sharp? Can you identify the people on it? _If the image is the landscape, why is so special? Does it take memories back? Will you use it in your home or to create an album? _Does the image have a special meaning to you? The Best Way to Begin... 1-Block out 1-2 hours to tackle digital images on your devices. Tell your family that either they can help you of leave you alone ;) during that time. During this time set up your system (software) and boxes 2-Sort Smart; by decade, year, themes, Stories 3-Grade those photos: A are the most keep/best ones, B are the ok ones, C are the ones that are poor quality, to give away or discard. 4-The meaning- If the image is meaningful (honeymoon, grandparents that are no longer here, first steps...) Keep them. If you have second thoughts on it maybe is time to say good bye. 5- Set up your system and stick with it. Set a monthly calendar reminder to transfer or print photos. Every December create a new folder with the most important images. Options to Keep your Photos Online smart store are a great option to keep digital images for example ; googlephotos.com, forever.com , or a Certified Personal Photo Organizer (CPPO) are good options. Done? • Forgiveness...

Article written by Blog Post Contributor Tabitha Dingler Forgiveness is not for the other person. Forgiveness is about yourself. I was recently in a Fit & Fierce Challenge, at the end of it our home work was to reach out to someone and forgive them. I thought about this for days before I did it. There have been many people in my past that I should probably forgive for some of the things I feel they wronged me with. I decided that first, I needed to forgive me. So here it is, my homework! Homework, Forgiveness! So I have thought about this for the last few days and I decided that I will forgive and make peace with myself. I decided that where I am in my life and where I'm wanting to go, I need to forgive me the most! So I forgive myself for not always taking her side, I forgive myself for doing things that weren't of value to her. I forgive myself for not taking better care of her whether it be physically, mentally or both. I forgive myself for always believing the worst about her. I forgive myself for putting others before her. I forgive myself for not believing she is deserving. I forgive myself for not believing she can. I forgive myself for allowing others to degrade me. I forgive myself for allowing others to use me. I forgive myself for not always making the right choices as a Mom, I forgive myself for choices I've made, I forgive myself for not always making the right choices as a wife. I forgive myself for not always being the friend I have expected others to be. I forgive myself for not being the daughter or sister I should have always been. I will no longer live my life without forgiveness especially for myself.. In doing this I have come to peace with the things that bother me the most. Now I can move on and forgive those I need to make peace with and forgive. So, I have to tell you, that after doing this... It is an absolute amazing feeling! I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted. I feel like a new non judgmental person. I feel that in forgiving myself I have now forgiven everyone else and have moved on from the things that weighted me down. We are our own worst critics and enemy. Our-self is what stops us from getting out of our own way and being that amazing person your meant to be. I did do the homework and recently reached out to someone. I apologized for reacting in a way I should not have. I also gave my forgiveness. I found that the response I received didn't matter. I did not feel the need to respond to that response or get upset or anything. I did my part in what I needed to do not for them but for me. Once you are truly excepting of forgiving of yourself everything else just seems to fall into place. I feel so much peace in not only my heart but in my head to. If you have constant conflict going on, learn how to forgive you. I find that most of our conflicts have more to do with what we personally feel, think and do. We judge our self to the point of pain mentally and physically. In this pain we find ways to lash out at others by blaming or judging but in truth aren't we really just mirroring what we feel inside about our self? Or what we are afraid of being or doing? Something to think about and get to the bottom of! We are not in control of anyone except our-self! My newest favorite thing to say is.. I am not in control of how you react. I am only in control of how I act or react. Reaction before thinking is in my opinion our biggest flaw.... • Yesterday was amazing, well right up until..........

Article written by Blog Post Contributor Tabitha Dingler I was rocking my day! I drank my water, enjoyed my coffee and watched the positive videos I watch every day. Did my stretches, made a sale before even leaving the house. By 9 a.m. I was meeting a friend at the Health bar for a shake (breakfast) and a bubble tea (which was so fun to drink). By 1 p.m. I had brand new tires, unloading groceries from the car, putting them away. Life felt amazing and I felt accomplished! A friend stopped by and we chatted for a good while. When she left I went in to finish putting away the groceries. As I grabbed all the bags off the counter and started to ball them up to stick all in one bag, that's when it happened. I got electrocuted! The amount of pain I felt in my hand and up my arm was seriously no joke! I panicked, took off my wedding rings and watch. I told my son to turn on his phone and call 911 if I pass out. Do not call Dad first, call 911. I had no idea what happened! Was it a scorpion, a spider did I really just get electrocuted? I mean the bags were a little wet from the frozen foods and this was a pain I have never felt before! I've been stung by bees, ants, this couldn't be a bite or a sting, I searched the bags and found nothing. The pain was horrible, waves starting in my hand and going up my arm and you could see a red dot on the inside of my finger. I was convinced I was electrocuted and my rings were the conductor! I kept looking for answers, talking to my son, saying things like is this real, was it a bug, should I go to the ER, am I going to die? It was on my left hand that goes to my heart. As it starts to turn red and starts swelling, I have an ice pack on it and I call my husband in complete panic. I tell him I've been electrocuted or bit by something or I don't know what I just know it hurts in waves of pain and I'm going to die. Luckily he was only about 5 minutes from being home so when he gets here I rush out and show him. As I'm still freaking out and convinced I'm dying and have been electrocuted. He says babe its ok you were bit by something. I say no way it hurts to bad to be a bite and I have looked and can't find anything. He comes in the house and searches everywhere in the kitchen and what does he find? A Black Wasp in my kitchen window. Seriously a freaking wasp! I just can't even comprehend that a bug can cause this much pain. He sprays it and when it falls on the floor I stomp it saying take that you evil thing you. As we go to the store to get some allergy medications I'm still not convinced it was that wasp and if it was, That thing is evil and painful and nothing like that should exist and holy crap does it hurt (yes I was saying these things and more). My hubby laughing at me, tells me how the wasp paralyses its prey and lays eggs so the babies can eat when they hatch and it should make you feel better that they eat spiders. I'm like ummm NO it does not make me feel better, it hurts so bad that I mean seriously I still say i was electrocuted!!!!! The only thing that convinced me it was not an electrocution (and seriously I'm still not 100% convinced). Was when the allergy medications started to work and swelling started to go down. However it was and still is very painful and from what I have now read, it can hurt for days! Moral of the story, to make you laugh and never underestimate the sting or bite of a bug.... • Prevent Acne From Forming On Your Skin!

Article written by Blog Post Contributor Oluwatobi Ajayi Tips For Preventative Skin Care For Men Even for men, having acne again as an adult is not something you want to experience if you can help it. What more with so many factors that cause acne that it can be tricky to pinpoint exactly what's causing you to suffer unnecessary blemish on your skin. As the adage says; preventing is indeed better than cure, and right here we are sharing you simple, informative guide for you to prevent acne from happening in the first place. As acne basically forms from excess oil that gets mixed with dirt, dead skin cells for a breeding ground for bacteria to thrive, the tips right here are the ones that you need to do (consistently) so no acne can ever form on your skin. Wash Your Face Twice a Day The first rule is the most basic that you need to do twice a day - washing your face. And not just a bar of regular soap, but the right facial cleanser according to your skin type (as well as any skin issues that you might have, like eczema for example). Regular, consistent washing routine is the key to wash away dirt, excess oil, and impurities from the skin to avoid bacteria breeding on your skin. Choose the right cleanser according to your skin type (for example, rich cleanser for dry skin, while water-based cleanser for oily skin ), and lather it with warm water for effective cleansing. Keep in mind to limit to wash your face in the morning and night before bedtime; any more than that will only make your skin drier than needed, which lead to more oil produced, which lead to more acne to form. As a tip, since men's skin are generally thicker than women's, you can opt for a facial wash/scrub with scrub properties to gently buff out dead skin cells for deep cleansing. Protect Your Skin With a Moisturizer After cleansing, the next important step is definitely to use a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and protected. The product is essential as it works to deliver nutrients to nourish your skin while creating a protective barrier from the environment and harmful elements from getting onto your skin. As with facial wash, choose moisturizer that suits with your skin type (rich, creamy texture moisturizers are best for dry skin, while gel and/or lotion is for oily skin) as well as any skin issues that you might have, keeping in mind for the moisturizer to be non-comedogenic as it won't clog pores, and apply the cream after washing the face. Use a Sunscreen Yes, sunscreen is important, even for you men. Get a good dose of SPF on top of your skin to protect from damaging UV rays from penetrating your skin, as the UV rays will oxidize the cells underneath your skin, creating free radicals that cause your skin to sag, spotty, and wrinkly - the signs of aging happening prematurely to your skin. Eat Fruits, Veggies And Stay Hydrated And of course, the most important tip for preventative skin care routine, to get enough nutrients from a healthy meal, as well as drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated. Vitamins and minerals from healthy food choices will benefit your skin inside out, while extra water will detoxify your skin, flushes out impurities and keeping your skin supple, all that's needed to prevent acne from forming on your skin. • Me Time, Do Not Feel Guilty About It!

Article written by Blog Post Contributor Karen Fabiola Photography Since becoming a mom, I been "discovering"all types of pressures we feel with or without asking. First, everyone is happy that you are about to have your own bundle of joy ( :D), then you get all the new mom recommendations, even without asking, after that, your eyes wondered around all the books, studies, mom blogs, scientific researches to create the super woman/ perfect/ best mom ever. But...right after your little human decide to make a crazy debut into the world, you get the first reality check. You kinda forget that all the books, all the "perfect" moms, all the unsolicited recommendations were ok, but you need to adapt to what really works for you. Not an easy task because you feel all eyes are on you, and the pressure of being perfect is just too much. Motherhood is about phases, maturity and flexibility. What works for others maybe is not that good for you, but after 21 years in the "mom business" I can tell you one thing... If Mama isn't happy, no one is happy. To be confident on your mom decisions, ALL moms need to take breaks, some schedule (when life gets crazy) and some sudden breaks. Support system needs to understand that mom needs this to keep it sane and even mom need to learn to respect her "me Time". You don't need to take a trip to Greece; 20 minutes on the tub with some amazing essential oils/music, getting a pedi, taking a nap, going with friends for brunch or dinner (and make the rule to talk about everything but kids or partners), talk about you! Because you are important! Don't feel guilty to say NO sometimes to protect your "me" time, it is important to keep ourselves happy, with goals, plans, doing stuff that we love and not to lose ourselves to take care of others. For your mental health, for your happiness, do not let others to decide what is right or wrong educating your kids or working on your family. Do not let others to decide what is ok to do. Those little human will grow and will appreciate that mom took care of herself and they will do the same when is their time. Salud! Cheers! Kanpai! :) Karen Fabiola Photography https://www.karenfabiolaphotography.com #familyportraits #jacksonvillebusinessconnections #karenfabiolaphotography #jacksonville #igersjax #jaxmoms #familyphotos #documentinglife #storyteller #guestblogger

  • Do you Boo!

Article written by Blog Post Contributor Tabitha Dingler Life sure does get busy and sometimes its so easy to forget about our-self. You are the number one person in your life. You have to take care of you before any one else! Mental care is just as important as physical care. I'm not saying don't do the normal things we all do. What I'm saying is take time for you! Go get your nails done (even my hubby loves a pedicure), go have a cocktail with some friends, take a 20 minute walk in nature, turn off your phone, social media, emails and mediate for 5 minutes. Burn some incense, a diffuser, a candle, whatever your thing is and if your not sure, Find it! We all need to have that safe place where we can regroup for 5 minutes before we have a complete melt down and lose our shit. I personally love to get my nails done, that is my treat to myself when I'm rocking my business. I want to look professional and that's what helps me feel professional. It gives me a self confidence to talk to people that I use to think I wasn't good enough for. Yes you read that right, I have not always believed I was good enough. I love to burn incense, I burn it in every room when I'm feeling blah. It helps me get rid of the negative vibes I have going on. I listen to pod casts daily, Pandora is my best friend, I jam to dance music and dance around the house, I read and journal. I do whatever I feel will help me be a better me! It has taken me many years to get on a daily routine to change the way I think about myself. It isn't about what other people actually think of me, or tell me, or even treat me. It is all about what I think of me, what I tell me and yes how I treat me. Once you start holding yourself accountable for the way you feel, things in your life start to change. People no longer include you in there drama, people will hold you to a higher standard of respect and life will look amazing from the inside out. I'm not saying we can control everything, life is still life, it comes with good and bad. What I'm saying is when you start to care for you everything else falls into place. Part of that is also making sure you make time for you and your spouse to. If possible one night a week is ideal, if not possible then no less than every other week. No matter how young or old your kids are, no matter how busy you are with schools, kids friends and work you have to make healthy time for you and your spouse. Your relationship depends on it! Can't find a babysitter? put the kids to bed early, make a romantic dinner, light a candle, turn out the lights, turn off the phones, set a table and actually look at each other while your eating and talk about your day, each other and yourself. Pick a movie or a series on Netflix and only watch it together, every night at least one show. My husband and I get told all the time we are amazing, we have what everyone wants. Truth be told its not easy! We have struggles just like everyone else. What has helped us the most, is when our teenage kids wanted to be assholes we still made time for us. When life wanted to give us the worst, we stood together and helped each other. Oh i'm not saying we haven't had our share of fights. What I am saying is my husband is my rock, I know he thinks I'm the strong one but he is part of what helps me get through losing my daughter, he is part of what helps me fight another day and be the amazing woman I want to be. Your relationship isn't about being perfect or about who is right. Your relationship should be the backbone that gets you through the hard shit. In reality it all boils down to you! If your not happy nothing in your life will be happy! If you don't believe you can, you wont. If your always looking for something more and complaining about what you don't have, you will never be grateful or happy with what you do have. If you are negative and look at the bad, that's all that will surround you. I have always tried to find the good in every bad situation. I have always believed one day I will be more than what I am and everyday brings me closer to the woman I want to be! • 7 Tips to Healthy Aging Financially ~ Mind, Body & Spirit

Article written by Blog Post Contributor Lisamarie Monaco I hear stories from seniors often on how to live a long prosperous life and life it well. Some say drink wine every evening with dinner, some may say drink scotch when you wake up in the morning, some say going for daily walks keeps the doctor away, and then there are some feisty seniors that give me a smirk and say it is all about the sex life! LOL!!! I mean, who am I to argue that!? What do YOU define as healthy living? Below are my thoughts that I have learned through the years from my own experiences… Let me tell you a story. My Grandma just turned 91 this past March. Although her mind is sharp as a tac, her body is starting to ail her. On her birthday this year we spoke and one of the things she told me was, “Lisa, you know why I am still going strong after all these years?” I said, “no, tell me.” She begins to say, “The Fountain of Youth in historic St. Augustine! I drank the water many years ago!” We laughed. Ahhhh, I think to myself. If it were that easy! I would drink that all day long! In all seriousness, I am a daughter, granddaughter and a mom of 5 children. I am in my late 40’s now. Which honestly, I can’t even believe I say that out loud! I just started Beachbody 4 weeks ago. Why? Because I did give birth to 4 of my 5 kids, my oldest will be 29 this May. My body has been through a lot due to surgeries and giving birth. I have not felt healthy on any level in a long time. I wear many hats with all my businesses, being mom and fiancé to a wonderful man. I decided to make a change and it had to start with my health first. I can’t be any good to my businesses, my loved ones or my clients if I do not feel well. Four weeks later, I have not felt this good in years! Now, if I can get my time management in line. That will be a whole other article and subject for another day! 😉 Although we know no one lives forever, while you are on this earth, it is so important to be fit, Financially first, then Mind, Body, and Spirit. People often forget that being healthy financially goes hand in hand with our health. Why? Because if we don’t feel financially fit it effects our health, our mind and our spirit! We fall ill, we become depressed and finally our spirit is just broken. So, what do I mean by financially fit? As we age, we need to start thinking about our finances for ourselves and being able to live daily. Then think about our family. If God Forbid, I pass away today, will they be financially crippled taking care of my final expenses or debt I leave behind? If they are not financially fit, guess what? It will impact your family’s health, mind and spirit. See how this is one big viscous cycle? Many clients ask me, should I buy life insurance for my parents? It is very common, and today so very important. Purchasing a policy and paying a premium monthly is a small price to pay compared to how much a burial can be. Our parents took care of us, it is our time now to make sure they are taken care of. It is a privilege denied to many! 95% of my clients are seniors over the age of 75. They call me and tell me stories of how they did not put their final expense finances in place. Many of them have policies with companies that sold them on lies and now years later their premiums have tripled, and they can no longer afford that policy and as a result allowed it to lapse. Now their health status has changed, they are years older and concerned with the burden they will be leaving their family. In many cases, this leaves them feeling physically ill. Don’t let this happen to you. Knowing that and hearing the stories, I made sure I am financially fit, and I have peace of mind knowing right now, in the event of my death although of course devastated, my children will be financially OK. There are simple ways to achieve a healthy balance in life. 7 ways to healthy aging: · Write down your financial goals – Today! · Stay physically active – walk daily · Eat healthy foods · Sleep well · Maintain your brain – keep your mind active, learn something new daily · Practice prevention – accidents and chronic illness such as diabetes or depression can be preventable · Have your Life Insurance Policy up to date and get a free policy review each year – We will make sure you are not over paying, not even by a penny!!! My goal in life is to educate and help people achieve their financial final expense goals. Helping them keep fit on every level of their lives is my passion!!!
